The Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), in preparation for its 2018 general pilgrimage exercise to Israel, Rome and Greece has announced a package cost of N761, 000 for intending pilgrims.

The executive secretary, NCPC, Rev Tor Uja, made this known in Abuja while playing host to members of the Chaplaincy of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), led by Pastor John Enokela Paul.

Uja stated that the package cost will include airfare, accommodation and feeding of an intending pilgrim.

The NCPC boss who called on relevant stakeholders to invest in pilgrimage, reiterated the need for the Church to set a new template of prayer for the country.

He expressed displeasure that the Nigerian Christian community is not doing enough on pilgrimage, adding that NCPC is doing everything within its reach to ensure that pilgrimage has a new direction that would take the country forward.

He, therefore urged the NSCDC and other security agencies to collaborate with NCPC on pilgrimage to educate Nigerians on the dangers of abscondment and make them see beyond themselves.

“Nigeria has the best environment and opportunities and no Nigerian has any reason to abscond as we are a great people in a great nation.

“The purpose of God must be established in Nigeria, we must pray beyond the things we do to salvage this country. Serving God is not just an activity but commitment,” he said.

In his remarks, Pastor Enokela, who earlier advocated for enhanced partnership with the commission in the area of security during pilgrimage exercise, commended  the NCPC boss for his developmental strides.

Enokela, however, stressed that the importance of security cannot be over emphasized, adding that the collaboration is to make sure Nigeria is free from security breach during pilgrimage.
