FG Urges Citizens Not To Panic At Recent Movement Of Jets, Helicopter



The federal government has called on residents of the Federal Capital Territory and environs not to panic at the sights and sounds of Airforce fighter jets and helicopters that are recently flying within the air space.

The call was made in a statement signed by the chairman, 2018 Independence Planning Committee, Gabriel Aduda, yesterday  in Abuja.

He said that the flight maneuvers as well as the military hardware movements, were part of the rehearsals for the 58th Independence Day celebration.

He said that the major affected air space included the Eagle Square, Three Arms Zone, Keffi, Orozo, Ado, Karu, Nyanya among others.

“The Airforce jet simulations involving a total of 27 aircrafts assembled from various NAF units are planned for Sept.14 to 30th, 2018 from 10am to 11.30am and 3pm to 4pm daily.

“Members of the public are hereby advised not to panic at the sights and sounds of these personnel and equipment manoveaurs by the military and other paramilitary agencies.

“Citizens are therefore advised to go about their normal activities.”
