The commander, 23rd Armoured Brigade Yola, Brig Gen Bello Mohammed, says the military has set up a Joint Taskforce, to tackle farmer/herders’ conflict in Adamawa State.
Bello ascribed, the drastic reduction of the crisis to collaborative synergy between security agencies that make up the taskforce team in the state.
He made this known at a quarterly routine exercise, ‘Show of Force’, as part of preparations ahead of 2019 elections.
The taskforce comprises the military and all the paramilitary security agencies in the state.
“We have just set up a joint taskforce, to handle farmers/herders’ crisis in the state.
“The drastic reduction in the farmers/herders’ and communal crises in the state, is as a result of collaboration between all security agencies in the state.
“The exercise is specifically organised to draw attention to election programs, which begin with primaries and accumulate into national elections.
The military is poised to counter any criminal activities that may come up during forthcoming elections.
The commander urged politicians to ensure the interest of the nation above any other interest in their politicking.
