Lagos Residents Seeks IGP Intervention Over Incessant Robbery Incidences



Residents of the Millennium Citi Center Estate located in Gbagada area of Lagos State have called on the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to save their lives from the incessant invasion of their estate by armed policemen and some hoodlums.

The Chairman of the estate, Mr Soji Adeniji who said this while addressing journalist added that the incessant invasion of their area by the police and some unknown persons laying claim to the ownership of the estate had compromised their security.

Adeniji urged the IG to immediately intervene and save them from impending danger, stressing that the Chief Security Officer, identified as Iyeke William had been arrested and detained in Abuja over unsubstantiated alleged crime.

He said the unknown persons, in collaboration with the police had carried out such invasion more than thrice at the estate, arresting and intimidating the leadership of the community.

The Chairman  noted that the over 500 different families at the estate bought their land from one family  called Kolawole Shotayo, and gave them documents and receipt for their lands.

Adeniji said that about three other families had come up recently laying claim to the ownership of the estate, stressing that the families involved were currently in court our the matter.

“After the invasion of the estate by a faction of the family we bought the land from in April 2017, we formally applied to the Inspector-General of police to provide  the Estate with armed Mobile Policemen, approval was granted and have since been  enjoying the services of the two personnel ever since.’’
