NTA To Utilise NIGCOMSAT-1R For Nationwide Transmission

Africa’s largest television network, the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) has drummed support for the patronage of the nation’s NIGCOMSAT-1R, saying the station plans to utilise the satellite for smooth transmission of signals and operational use in different states of the federation.
The station’s executive director of engineering services, Engr. Stephen Moses, made this known when he led a powerful delegation on a courtesy visit to NIGCOMSAT Ltd, saying NTA has been able to transmit on NigComSat-1R in different locations in the country.
Moses said the largest television station in Africa has so far carried out test transmission in Lagos, Maiduguri and Bauchi which has been successful on C-band extended.
He stated that with all facilities on the standard C-band (NTA) 2.4m dish in Maiduguri and Bauchi had uplink facilities in 12 locations.
Earlier on, the delegation received by two top management staff of NIGCOMSAT Ltd., the executive director, marketing and business development, Hon. Samson Osagie, and the executive director, engineering services, Engr. Kolawole Raji Kazeem, expressed optimistic with the development, stating that the business relationship between the two agencies was long overdue.
They duo welcomed the initiative and promised NTA of reliable signal transmission at affordable and competitive price.
The meeting rolled into action by setting up framework of engagement preparatory to signing an agreement to kick start the relationship between the two agencies.
The meeting also assigned responsibilities to the engineering and marketers from the two agencies to ensure a workable direction towards achieving a smooth take off of the engagement.
