Some residents of the Federal Capital Territory, under the platform of FCT Citizens Against Bad Governance, have commended the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello, for replacing some political appointees in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
The group, in a statement issued yesterday, noted that the move would put to an end the speculation that the FCT Administration, and by extension the All Progressives Congress (APC) have anointed some aspirants ahead of its primaries.
The statement which was signed by the president of the group, Comrade Yunusa Ahmadu Yusuf, stressed that the action would also give the aspirants a level playing ground during and after the primary elections.
The group also canvassed for the appointment of FCT indigenes for the position of Education and Health Secretariats, stressing that these are areas that have direct bearing on the rural communities.
“It is our candid view that the sacking of some political appointees in the FCT Administration by the minister is a welcome development. This commendation became necessary because when the minister fails to act initially, we used the same platform to condemn him.
Now that he has done the needful, the only option left as a responsible citizens is to thank him. We equally request that Education and Health Secretariat should be given to Abuja native.”
