…promises support, victory
Youth under the auspices of Nigerian Youths Alliance for Good Governance (NYAGG), Sunday, congratulated former President, Atiku Abubakar, as winner of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential primary election held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The national coordinator, NYAGG, Austin Emavworho, who described the victory of Atiku as well deserved and good omen for the party and Nigerians said with Atiku there is hope for young people in the country in all areas including governance, employment and wealth creation that would reposition the economy and pace Nigeria on the path of prosperity.
According to him (Emavworho), the choice of the PDP delegates was the people’s choice as they have yearned to see the former president emerge the party’s candidate.
He said: “We are very happy that His Excellency, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, eventually won the keenly contested Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential primaries in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
“We in Nigerian Youths Alliance for Good Governance, NYAGG, congratulate him because his victory is well deserved and good omen people and for Nigeria at large.
“We see him as our president by the grace of God come 2019. We the young people now have renewed hope and aspiration to believe in our country because he is a man of the youths in this country because he is young at heart, and his present age does not matter.
“With Atiku we have hope of employment, quality education, innovation and invention, participation in the political process, restructuring, wealth creation, industrialization, sense of belonging, unity, transparency, accountability and security of lives and property, and may more I cannot highlight.”
The group also promised to support the bid of Atiku to win the 2019 presidential election and said will mobilize all young people across the country to massively vote for Atiku.
“We have resolved to ensure there is good governance again in Nigeria our beloved country, therefore we will go all out to network and galvanise our fellow young people to turnout en mass to massively vote for Atiku.
“He is a man who has a lot in the plate for youth development, empowerment and support to achieve what they want to become in their future. I want to also assure young people that most of the political appointments will be given to them and their voice will be heard and respected”, he added.
Meanwhile, he also called on the party to restrategise and come out with people engaging campaigns that would make the people to have confidence on the party and its presidential candidate.
“We want the party to carry the young people along in all the party does in order to ensure the victory of the party, and they will work for the victory of the party’s various candidates.
But I want to tell the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to start preparing for their departure come 2019 as Nigerians do not want them again. The hope of Nigeria has emerged who is His Excellency, Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar”, he stated.
