Kebbi Inaugurates Relief Distribution C’ttees For 21 LGs

The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) in Kebbi State, has inaugurated a three man committee for the distribution of relief materials in all the 21 local government areas of the state.

Inaugurating members of the committee in Birnin Kebbi yesterday Wednesday , the chairman of the agency, Alhaji Sani Dododo warned that any member of the committee found wanting in the discharge of the exercise would bear the full wrath of the law.

He charged them to be honest and desist from diverting any of the items.

He explained that the three man committee was set up following the purchased of relief materials by Kebbi State government for victims of flood disaster across the 21 local government areas of the state.

“If you can recall flood disaster affected almost all the local government areas in the state this year which destroyed houses, farm products and washed away many farm lands worth millions of naira .

“Kebbi government released funds to purchase the relief materials because we cannot continue to wait for federal assistance. Members of these committee are best men selected for the job,” he said.

Dododo urged members of the committee to ensure that the relief items reached the affected victims.

According to him members of the committee were drawn from the 21local government areas, traditional institutions and SEMA .

It will be recalled that Kebbi State government a fortnight ago purchased relief materials worth two hundred million naira for distribution to the affected flood victims in the 21 local government areas.
