2018 Amputee World Cup: NAFF President Assures Nigerians Of Victory



Ahead of the 2018 Amputee World Cup, president of Nigeria Amputee Football Federation (NAFF), Mallam Suleiman Isah, has said that the Special Eagles will do Nigerians proud and bring the trophy to the country.  Speaking LEADERSHIP Sports, NAFF boss, assured that that the Special Eagles will be going all out to win the tournament as the first African country to do so
“We pray that we win the World Cup and bring the trophy to Nigeria as the first team in African to do so,” he said  He also revealed that the players and officials are currently in camp at the Teslin Balogun stadium working hard and putting finishing touches to their preparations.  “We opened camp on Tuesday in Lagos and all the players are in Teslin Balogun Stadium putting finishing touches to their preparation. We are desired to use the astro turf pitch because that is what we are going to be playing on at the World Cup in Mexico,“ he noted
It could be recalled, that the Special Eagles have missed the last three editions of the tournament due to the unavailability of funds.
Nigeria is grouped alongside Russia, Brazil and El Salvador in the first round. Other African nations to the 24 countries competition are Ghana, Angola, Kenya and Liberia.
