The chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Engr Usman Abubakar Sandamu, has passed on at the age of 68. He died yesterday in Abuja after a brief illness. His remains will be taken to Kaduna for burial today according to Islamic rites. The late Abubakar hailed from Sandamu village in Katsina State. He was a close ally to President Muhammadu Buhari.
LEADERSHIP Friday learnt the deceased was appointed chairman, NRC Board, in the twilight of this administration and had been active alongside the minister of transport, Rotimi Amaechi, during the monthly inspection of the ongoing construction of Lagos to Ibadan standard gauge railway line.
