The Cultural Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy and Director, Chinese Cultural Centre, Abuja, Mr Li Xuda has said that China is proud of its Education and Cultural Exchange with Nigeria.
Mr Li, who made this revelation in an exclusive interview with LEADERSHIP, said, in appreciation of the cordial relations China shares with Nigeria, China has established two computer institutes in two higher institutions in Nigeria. He said, this initiative is aimed at enhancing mutual benefits.
China’s door, Li said, is opened to Nigerians in the spirit of people to people and government to governments relations.
“China welcomes Nigerian people, especially young students to go to China, learn more, return and build your beautiful country.
“When I talk about education exchange, one thing I would like to mention is that, China currently has two computer institutes in Nigeria. One is University of Lagos and the other at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa, in Anambra State.”
He explained that some Chinese nationals also come to Nigeria to learn Nigerian languages, cultures and traditional festivals. He asserted that, by so doing, Nigeria and China learn from each other, help each other and improve each other.
“China-Nigeria educational exchange works is in two ways. China established Chinese Language Teaching Centres across Nigeria, where it teaches Chinese Language and Culture, while Chinese nationals comes to Nigeria to learn.”
