A political support group for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in Taraba State, Buhari House2House 2019, has promised to garner over a million votes for President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 general elections.

Addressing a press conference in Jalingo yesterday, the state coordinator for Buhari H2H 2019, Muhammad Zakari and the secretary, Ismaila Idris, said achieving a million votes for President Buhari would be easier if former acting governor of the state, Garba Umar UTC is given the governorship ticket of the APC in Taraba State.

The group said the current APC governorship candidate, Sani Abubakar Danlandi is a threat to the victory of the party at the general elections.

“In our quest to strategize for the re-election of President Buhari, we carried out an objective investigation and thorough analysis of the most popular and widely accepted governorship candidate to ease our work of mobilising votes and support for APC, Alhaji Garba Umar UTC stands out as the most popular and widely accepted candidate among all the APC aspirants,” it said.

The group said Umar’s popularity in the state might not be unconnected to his stewardship when he was the acting governor in the state.

“It was reported that his administration is youth friendly as he employed thousands of youths into government agencies and through special marshals programme, construction of Bali-Gembu road, Takum General Hospital and above all peaceful coexistence among Tarabans,” it added.

It therefore appealed to the National Working Committee of the APC and the presidency to as a matter of urgency declare Umar as the governorship candidate of the APC.
