APC LG Primaries: Galadima, Chiya Emerge Winners In Kuje, Kwali



The incumbent chairman of Kuje area council, Abdullahi Galadima, was on October 24, declared winner of the All Progressive Congress (APC) chairmanship primary election in the area.

Galadima, who beat Hamidu Sarki with a wide margin of 234 votes to 10 votes and a 244 total vote cast, was declared winner about 9:45 pm on that day.

Announcing the results, the returning officer in Kuje, Barrister Musa Salihu, said of all the three contestants, two, Abdullahi Galadima and Hamidu Sarki, had a record of votes. But one contestant, Hussein Danlami, had zero votes. He however, described the exercise as transparent and credible while commending security operatives for ensuring peaceful conduct of the election.

Speaking after the event, the chairman expressed satisfaction and gratitude to the security operatives and all present, for ensuring peaceful conduct of the election, urging all to close rank and ensure the development of Kuje area council.

Similarly, Danladi Chiya, emerged winner of the primary election in Kwali area council with 126 votes in a keenly contested election with seven other aspirants.

Others, who contested were, Jibri Zubairu, 93 votes; Muhammed Hussein, 44 votes; Ibrahim Shada, 20 votes; Simon Dogara, 5 votes; Bala Takuru, 3 votes; Isuwa Azaka, 2 votes; lliya Baza, 1 vote and 14 invalid votes. Bringing the number of total vote cast to 308.
