Red Cross Donates Materials To Niger Flood Victims

No fewer  than 1,000 victims of flood disaster have been provided with relief materials in Niger State by the Nigerian Red Cross Society in the different locations in the state at the weekend

The victims  of flood given the relief materials were in  Wushishi, Shiroro, Kontagora , Munya, Lapai, Edozhigi, Mokwa, and  Borgu local government areas of Niger State.

Each of the Beneficiary was given two Bags of Rice, three small size Bags of Grinded Corn, two small size Bags of Beans, Wrappers, four Blankets, Set of Pants, four Big size of Mat, Soaps, Detergents, Water Aqua Tabs, two mosquito nets, Filter water Buckets, Kictchen utensils, Bed sheet among other Household items.

According to the officials the  Society was supported in the provision of the relief materials by the International Committee of Ref Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of Redcoss and Redcresent (IFRC).

Speaking while distributing the materials to the victims, in  the  flood affected  communities of the local government areas, the Regional Disaster Response Team (RDRT), Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed said the Red Cross movement decided to assist the victims of the flood disaster in Niger State with a view to alleviating their sufferings.

He stated that the relief materials would be able to mitigate the sufferings caused to them  and the  property lost during the flood disaster.
