Amaechi, Odili, Others For Catholic Cleric’s Book Launch

Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and former Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili are among dignitaries expected to grace the presentation and launching of a book ‘Niger Delta Paradox: Impoverished In The Midst Of Abundance’ on Saturday, November 3, 2018.

A statement issued in Port Harcourt by the author of the book and former Sole Administrator of Rivers State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Monsignor John Wangbu, said the event will hold at Juanita Hotels, Amadi Flats, Port Harcourt.

Wangbu, who is also the Parish Priest of Christ the King Catholic Church, Sangana Street, Port Harcourt, said the book, which was forwarded by Odili and former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Timi Alaibe, looked at the challenges facing the Niger Delta region despite its abundant natural resources.

The cerebral cleric said: “Niger Delta is a region that lays the golden eggs of the federal, but: alas!, no commensurate values for her yields.

“Vexed by that anomalous development, I immersed myself in the nitty gritty cum panacea to the seemingly intractable challenges of the region in a book entitled: The Niger Delta Paradox: Impoverished In The Midst Of Abundance, with forward by Dr. Peter Odili and Mr. Timi Alaibe.”
