The police have confirmed the abduction of Prof Allan Mamman Kadams of the School of Agriculture, Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola Adamawa State.
The Professor of Crop Production, was kidnapped at his residence at Bajabure Federal Housing Estate by 2:00am, yesterday.
SP Othman Abubakar, the police public relations officer (PPRO), said the police has dispatched personnel to trace the whereabouts and rescue the abducted professor.
“The police in conjunction with the members of the family are making efforts to trace the where about of the kidnapped professor.”
Othman said the command has arrested 11 kidnappers operating in Wauro-Jabbe and Vuno-Kalang area of the state.
The registra of the university, Hajiya Halima Balla also confirmed the abduction of the academic from the institution.
Efforts to contact elder brother, of the kidnapped lecturer, Bernard Mohammadu Ladu on whether the abductors have contacted members of the family proved abortive.
When LEADERSHIP contacted Motol home village of the kidnapped Professor, in Hong LGA, the entire village was thrown into mourning mode, when they heard the news of the abduction.
It would be recalled that Prof Ibrahim Adamu Zata of Soil Science Department, was last two weeks kidnapped by unknown gunmen in his Geire local government private resident.
The latest abduction brings to two, numbers of the Professors kidnapped from the same institution same.
