The Bank of Agriculture (BOA) and the Bank of Industry (BOI) have begun wooing former Niger Delta agitators, who had been trained on entrepreneurship by the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).

The ex-agitators, who are currently participating in the 2018 Entrepreneurial Fair, organised by PAP, were trained in fishery, carpentry, fashion designing, shoe-making, photography, bakery and music, among others.

Addressing the participants, Zonal Manager, South-South, Bank of Agriculture, Mrs. Kagho Adesuwa, urged the ex-agitator to explore opportunities provided by the bank to get small loans to grow their entrepreneurship.

Kagbo said: “Our mandate is on agriculture; we have a clear vision and that is what agriculture is all about. That is why we are different from other commercial banks. I urge delegates to take advantage of these opportunities provided by the Bank of Agriculture.”

Addressing the participants also, the Deputy Manager, Bank of Industry (BOI), Mr. Harrison Osauwagboe, said the Bank is a development finance institution, which was created to fund the establishment of local industries.

Osauwagboe said: “The Bank of Industry is ready to support the delegates achieve their set goals. We have one of the easiest ways of accessing loans. All you need is just two guarantors and 10% of the amount you need.”

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Head of Re-Integration, Presidential Amnesty Programme, Hon. Aroyolote Brown, advised the ex-agitators, to ensure that repay loans collected so as to make it possible for others to benefit from the loan scheme.
