He said the Kebbi State government has demonstrated a lot of commitment in making funds available for its health sector as well as spending money on sourcing for foreign and local expertise to provide quality health to people in the state.

“From what we have seen, the state government is doing a wonderful job in the heath sector especially in sourcing for foreign and local expertise to provide quality health services to people in the state.

“The state is collaborating with NGOs and is trying to recruit health providers so that people of the state get the best, the state is doing a good job”, he said

He added that he leads a 22 foreign doctors, nurses, dentist, surgeons, urologist, pharmacist and support staff to offer free medical outreach in collaboration with Kebbi State government.

The chairman, Clinical Committee of the outreach, Dr Aminu Haliru who is also director, Medical Services said the number of patients who trooped in to benefit was overwhelming.

“In the first week alone as at Friday, we had over 151 eye surgeries, over 60 O&G surgeries, over 20 E&T surgeries, over 100 dental surgeries, a lot of reconstructive surgeries, people who could not work for 70 years can now walk,” he said.

Dr Bunza opined that since the creation of Kebbi State in 1991, there wasn’t any programme that touches lives of the common man in the state, than the free medical outreach programme which the state government sponsored.
