‘Tambuwal Committed To Polio Immunisation’

Sokoto State governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, is committed towards ensuring maximum coverage in the ongoing 6- day polio injectable and oral vaccine exercise taking place in 6 local governments of the state.

Making the disclosure yesterday during a routine tour to monitor the exercise, Sokoto State executive secretary, Primary Health Care Development Agency (SPHCDA) Alhaji Abubakar Adamu Romo, further urged parents to kindly make their wards available to be immunised.

According to Romo, the governor in total display of his political will to support the excedxise has equally directed the state Committee on Polio Eradication to summit any requirement as supplementary request should the need arises.

“The state government under the leadership of governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has settled all the monies required for the payments of the general vacations teams, that of procurement of vaccines and sensitisation as well.”

Romo who thanked governor Tambuwal and all other partners for their continued support, urged all vacinators to ensure that they do their jobs diligently and meet targets as well.

“We want to urge every household to release their children to participate in the ongoing polio immunisation exercise ongoing in the state. Let the door of every household open widely for polio officials to have access and vaccinate eligible children during these 6 day period.”

He further assured that the team are eager to ensure that all eligible children are reached in the 8 local governments no matter how remote their location might be.

Recall that the exercise is ongoing in  Wurno, Dange Shuni, Bodinga, Kware, Sokoto North, Sokoto South, Yabo and Wamakko local government areas respectively.
