The chairman, Nigerian Sports Summit Project (NSSP), Mr Philip Aziegbe has said that the NSSP conference will promote teamwork, school sports, grassroots development and confidence amongst students in the country.

In an exclusive interview with LEADERSHIP sports yesterday, Aziegbe said the conference will rejuvenate these attributes at both grassroots and the educational sectors.

According to him, “The conference is not just a conference like others, we are going  to practically demonstrate the outcome of the conference as they start implementing our schools program because the conference is presiding over two major programmes – the National School Sports Championship Project (NSCP) and the National School Sports Olympiad (NSSO).

“I believe that there would be positive impact because of the organizations that are involved and also some of the outstanding sectors that have been invited for the program.

“In the area of facilities, as we visited some State and LGA, we were made to understand that necessary measure needs to be taken and that is why we are working with Public Private Partnership (PPP) to see how we can stimulate our progress.

The chairman also noted that the organizations are building public private synergies to resuscitate school sports at all levels. He noted that with this, schools and grassroots sports programmes would be brought to limelight.

“Again, we have the backing of the FME,NOA,NSSF,NARICT and a lot of others, we have also reached out to various schools and the programme is going to attract the participants and I believe the implementation of the outcome would never be our challenge,” he added.
