PDP, APGA Woo Aggrieved APC Members

A coalition of opposition parties plans to explore the post-primary election crisis in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure its defeat at the 2019 general elections.

The opposition parties championing the cause are the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Part of the plan is to woo aggrieved APC members who are yet to get redress over the manner they were eased out of the party’s primaries.

For instance, one of the cases of the son to an aide to Aisha, President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife, who was imposed and his name submitted for the House of Representatives seat for AMAC/Bwari federal constituency, without winning at the primaries would be one of the reference points.

It was believed that the imposition of Hajo Sani’s son was with active knowledge of Buhari’s wife after a failed attempt to make her brother the APC governorship candidate in Adamawa State.

A party source said that the opposition parties, especially the PDP, is “ever ready to do anything, including calling APC all sorts of names and citing all manner of anomalies in the party as part of their smear campaign.”
