A group of traders, under the platform of Nigerian Traders for President Muhammadu Buhari (NTPMB), have appealed to the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, to provide access, security, drugs and medical personnel in markets.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the minister, the national coordinator of the group, Prince Paul Ikonne, disclosed that the group has plans to embark on public enlightenment, free medical checks and town hall meetings, to sensitise traders on the laudable policies and programmes of President Buhari-led administration.
Ikonne explained that the visit was meant to solicit the support of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) for its various programmes, which are aimed at galvanising support for President Muhammad Buhari, ahead of the 2019 elections.
Responding, the FCT minister reiterated his support for laudable projects of the group, which are aimed building a healthy population and sensitising the people on government policies and programmes.
Bello commended the group and described their programmes as laudable, just as he assured them of the support of the FCT Administration, adding that the administration would grant them access to all markets, under the authority of the administration for the purpose of the exercise.
He however said that the guidelines for such would be strictly adhered to, just as he directed relevant secretariats, departments and agencies (SDAs) to work with the group towards the realisation of the laudable programme.
