Adamawa Assembly Approves N5 Billion Loan Request For LG Salaries



The Adamawa Assembly, have approved the request from Governor Mohammed Bindow to source for N5 Billion Naira loan, for settlement of local government and its Agencies salaries backlog and arrears.

The loan to be sourced from the United Bank for Africa (UBA), is to be strictly supervised’ for the purpose intended, as the lawmakers would ensure compliance across the 21 LGAs of the state.

The Speaker Kabiru Mijinyawa who presided the plenary, confirmed the resolution by affirmation, from the lawmakers and directed the clerk to communicate the executive arm for further action.

The 21 LGAs are being owed salaries arrears, ranging from two to eight months, while LG health workers are been owed eight months’ salary arrears in the state.

However, the House also received a letter, seeking for the confirmation of the appointment of Chairman and Members State Fiscal Responsibility Commission.

The letter sign by Gov. Jibirilla was read on the floor of the House, has Dahiru Adamu as Chairman, Husseini Abubakar, Baba Buba Galadima and Mrs Solome Shamaki as Members.
