Governor Muhammadu Bindow of Admawa State is set to declare vacant the position of the substantive vice chancellor of Adamawa State University (ADSU), Mubi.
The appointment of the new vice chancellor will be based on the state civil service rules, he said.
Bindow made the disclosure yesterday at the swearing-in of Dr John Ngamsa as commissioner into his cabinet.
The university’s management and the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) have been on the warpath which had paralysed academic activities in the institution.
Prof. Caletapwa Farauta was appointed acting vice chancellor of the school following the crisis that characterised the tenure of Dr. Moses Zaruwa.
Meanwhile, the governor has donated a car to Aishatu Usman , a 24-year-old, who represented the state at the National Quranic Competition in Nasarawa State and emerged the overall winner.
Usman is a graduate of Agricultural Science from the Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), Yola.
