Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Hon. Emmanuel Jime has promised to retain and strengthen the Anti-open grazing law if elected as governor in 2019.

Jime who is also the managing director of Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA), made the promise yesterday at the Synod of the NKST Church in Gboko.

He dismissed the rumour that his government was primed by the federal government to repeal and reenact a weaker version of the Act so as to allow herdsmen operate freely in Benue.

He promised to partner with the federal government to develop a Free Trade Zone in Benue, build key roads and invest substantially in healthcare and education.

The former member of the House of the of Representatives also pledged a better deal for workers and the poor in his administration.

Jime in his opening remarks in Gboko, regretted that many politicians were paying lip service to development in the face of abject poverty and absence of basic amenities.

The governorship hopeful promised to return Benue to its days of glory and put it on the path of rapid growth in all areas.
