Some National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Sokoto under the auspices of Charity and Tourism Club, yesterday donated food stuffs, clothing and cash to Sokoto State Orphanage Home.
The exercise which is part of their Community Development Service (CDS), they said was one of their numerous humanitarian services to their state of primary assignment.
Speaking on behalf of the group, its president, Mr Obochi Ekele Gabriel , said it’s their wish to make positive impact in the society by extending assistance to less privileged.
According to him, the items donated to Sokoto orphanage included rice, Indomie noodles, sphagetti, macaroni, beverages, toiletries, detergents, clothes as well as some cash.
Obochi noted that though the gesture was part of their ‘widow’s might’, it will make the orphans to have a sense of belonging and boost their bond with the society.

Reacting to the gesture, Sokoto State chairman of the Management Committee on Orphanage, Dr Malami Bankanu appreciated the corps members for their cherished act of humanity.
