Thirteen customers of Fidelity Bank at the weekend emerged the first set of millionaires of the Get Alert in Millions Season three promo (GAIM3) taking home N15 million in total asides the various consolation prizes given out by the bank.
Fidelity bank plans to give out N110 million in cash prizes, N10 million in weekly airtime prizes as well as other consolation prizes during the period which the promo will run. GAIM Season 3, which started last month is aimed at rewarding new and existing customers of the bank and is expected to run for nine months till June 2019.
Speaking on the promo, executive director, Shared Services and Products, Fidelity Bank, Mrs. Chijioke Ugochukwu, noted that the bank had seen its customer base as well as deposit base rise with the promo which is targeted at promoting a savings culture amongst the bank’s customers and increase financial inclusion in the country.
“This new savings promo is the eight in 11 years. As with the previous ones, we are motivated to continue to empower our customers by rewarding them with cash and gift items, whilst at the same time promoting the savings culture, in line with the financial inclusion drive of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN),”she said.
She noted that the bank will be intensifying its efforts in the North particularly in the areas where financial exclusion is still high, to target and bring into the financial system those that are yet to be banked. She also said that to do this the bank had launched the quick response (QR) code account opening, allowing individuals open saving account from their phones by scanning the code. She added that the bank would also be taking the draws to the north to promote financial inclusion and GAIM3 in the region.
Two persons from the South East and the South South had won N2 million naira each while two persons from Lagos, Abuja, North, and South West had won N1 million each. One of the winners, a student from Afe Babalola University, Isreal Asidere, expressed joy on being one of the winners, thanking the bank for making him a millionaire.
Another winner, Nnamdi Okafor, a trader from Aba who won N2 million also expressed appreciation to the bank noting that the win would help in growing his business.
To participate, head, Retail Banking, Fidelity Bank, Mr. Richard Madiebo said “customers can open a savings account and grow it to N20, 000 or top up an existing account with N10, 000 or more to qualify for the monthly draws to win N1million or N2 million. To qualify for the star prize of N3m, he explained that customers are expected to grow their account balances by N50, 000 monthly whilst accounts that maintain a minimum of N200,000 qualify for the grand prize of a whooping N10 million.
“As a bank with branches across the country, the draws ceremonies will be done to ensure that everybody, irrespective of where their accounts are domiciled, stand equal chances of winning” he explained. There will be a total of six draws to produce 77 cash and 108 consolation prize winners over the duration of the exercise.’’
