Jime To Ortom: Focus On Your Re-election Campaign

Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Emmanuel Jime has asked the Benue State governor Samuel Ortom, to focus on his reelection campaign rather than smearing his reputation to get votes.

Jime who made this known while reacting to accusations by the PDP leader who accused the party of staging a campaign at IDPs Camp, Daudu and as well buying votes from them, described the accusations as panic mood bothering on hallucination.

“All the accusations levelled against me by the PDP- led administration that my mother is a Fulani woman, I am being sponsored by the Miyetti Allah are all lies from the pit of hell, because when I was at the National Assembly in 2011, I put on a motion on the floor of the House on the issue of Fulani invasion of the state, the records are there, then 7 years after I will turn around to kick against the bill that is meant to protect my people, this is nothing but the campaign of hatred.

“Aside that, I am a true Benue and Tiv Man from the Iharev extraction, my mother is from Benue and Tiv as well, I hold so many offices including political. I started politics since 1992, why are all this accusations coming now? What I can say is that, the PDP is in panic mood, and what they want is to divert the people’s attention from their non-performance.

“This is even laughable, is it easy to repeal a law that is being made by a state? Even amending a law, is a process that requires the state Assembly and the inputs of the citizens, I cannot wake up and say I want to repeal a law that is being made by a state with due process, I promise to retain the law, if elected as governor come 2019.”

He described lack of courage and conviction on the side of the PDP government as a bane of delivering good governance to the Benue People.

The managing director of Nigeria Export Processing Zones (NEPZA) alleged that what is lacking in the PDP led administration in the state is lack of preparedness for governance.

“Lack of courage and conviction on the side of the PDP government is a bane of delivering good governance to the Benue People.

“If I am elected as governor of the state come 2019, I will make a difference by improving on the welfare of citizens, l have serve the state and country at different capacities and I believe by this, I am eminently qualify and prepare to bring dividends of democracy to the door step of the Benue people,” he said.
