FG Tackling Youth Unemployment – NDE

In its efforts to tackle unemployment, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has rolled out jobs for unemployed persons in Ondo State.

The director general, National Directorate of Employment, Dr. Nasiru Ladan, made the disclosure at the orientation and flag-off of the 2018 Basic National Open Apprenticeship Training Scheme (B-NOAS) of the directorate in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Ladan, in his address presented by the state coordinator, Mr. Rufus Ilori, reiterated the determination of the federal government under the leadership of President Mohammadu Buhari, to empower youths through skills acquisition which is regarded as a tool for employability and poverty reduction.

While highlighting some of the job activities the NDE set to implement immediately in the state, the NDE boss enthused that those trained would become the next generators of cosmetology products, corporate farmers, and hairdressers among others.

He added that before long they will through the multiplier effect create several thousands of jobs and impact on the real sector of the economy.

Earlier, the state coordinator, Rufus Ilori, disclosed that a total number of 300 trainees would undergo a 3-month intense training in three NDE/MDG skill centres situated in the state.
