Kwara State governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has asked Nigerian Muslims to pray fervently for peaceful transition as general election approaches.

He also congratulated them on the occasion of the celebration of the birth of Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W).

Ahmed, in a statement by his chief press secretary, Abdulwahab Oba, said no efforts should be spared in ensuring a peaceful and hitch free poll come 2019.

The governor, who extolled the sterling qualities of Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W) as a shining example to humanity, advised everyone to emulate the character of justice, equity and fairness as exhibited by the Prophet.

Ahmed advised Nigerians to be patriotic in their dealings with other people and shun every act capable of dismantling the Nigeria project.

He appealed to Muslim leaders to use the occasion to caution political leaders against divisive tendencies even as he urged them to put the country’s interest above every selfish and parochial interest.

The governor advised the youths to adhere strictly to the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W) by respecting constituted authority and shun all acts of violence before, during and after the general elections.
