The Katcha Ward Development Forum has lauded the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar for ensuring the release and implementation of the white paper of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry on Kede and Katcha boundary dispute.

The two communities in Katcha and Mokwa local government areas in Niger State have been embroiled in boundary dispute over the years until the commission was set up and the white paper unveiled last week at the Etsu Nupe’s palace in Bida.

In a statement issued yesterday and signed by the chairman of the forum, Alhaji  Etsunu and the secretary, Tijani Ndaliman Katcha, the people of Katcha thanked the Etsu Nupe (Bagodozhi) for  his fatherly roles towards the restoration of peace in Katcha community.

The statement posited that the Etsu Nupe saw to the release of the white paper and therefore deserved the commendation of the people of Katcha.

Katcha people also commended the governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello for taking the path of justice and transparency to ensure that peace reigned in the disputed area.

They, however, appealed to the governor to relocate the people of Kpata Katcha  to New Muregi for lasting peace in the area.
