The Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO) has vowed to ensure that incumbent President Muhammdu Buhari is re-elected in 2019 saying, the president will get over 90 per cent votes from Nigerians.
National coordinator of the president’s support group, Alhaji Danladi Pasali, stated this yesterday during the inauguration of the Ondo State chapter of the BCO in Akure.
Pasali who said that President Buhari remains the best man to lead Nigeria out of its woes with his proven integrity noted that the Buhari administration has reduced insurgency in the North East in line with his promise to end the activities of the terrorists.
Noting that President Buhari must win the 2019 general elections, he called on the people of Ondo State to rally more support for his reelection bid.
According to him, the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the party to beat in the next general elections despite the campaigns of calumny by the opposition.
He added that the Buhari administration has done excellently well in its fight to end the scourge of corruption and insurgency in the country.
He stated: “Buhari would come back in 2019; it has become history already and we want the people of Ondo State to rally more support for him. At least we are expecting 90 per cent of your support.
“Imagine, in those days people were afraid of worshiping in their churches and mosques due to insurgency, but it has now become a thing of the past. Look at the money that was meant to equip our security and to fight the insurgency, which was used by the former government of the PDP to prosecute elections.
“Also, over one million people lost their lives under the PDP but President Buhari has made insurgency to become history in Nigeria. Those clamouring for former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, to be released are very wicked and we shall not subscribe to such calls. So, we know the masses of this country are behind Buhari and there is no vacancy in Aso Rock”.
On his part, director of Communications and Strategic Planning of the BCO, Mallam Gidado Ibrahim, said the APC is poised for issue-based campaign and would not fight with any political party as campaigns for the 2019 general elections gather momentum.
Ibrahim said the party would remain united, as there is no longer infighting among its members. He noted: “We want the people of Ondo State to assist us from all nooks and crannies of the state to ensure that Buhari comes back in 2019.
“We want to assure you that those corrupt politicians fighting the president will meet their waterloo in 2019 when we would have returned President Muhammdu Buhari back to power. The other political parties should campaign strictly on constructive issues and shun all forms of propaganda”.
Earlier, the Ondo State coordinator of the BCO, Muyiwa Ogunyemi, said the APC in the state remains a big family and will work hard to ensure President Buhari is re-elected.
“We would go to all nooks and crannies of Ondo State to campaign and mobilise for all the candidates of the party ahead of the 2019 poll. We are going to support our people and deliver Ondo State to President Buhari come 2019”.
