No fewer than six people have died after a petrol lorry crashed into a block of homes in Southern Vietnam on Thursday, setting them alight, state media reported.
The lorry, which was driving on National Highway 13, crashed into a motorbike rickshaw in Chon Thanh district of Binh Phuoc province and overturned after hitting a power pole, the Vnexpress news site reported.
The spilled fuel caught fire and burned 19 homes while residents were still asleep.
Six were reported dead and dozens injured with serious burns.
The articulated vehicle’s driver suffered serious burns while the rickshaw driver received minor injuries.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
