Indian security forces launched a counter-terrorism operation in the early hours of Friday
Six Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists have been shot dead in an encounter with Indian security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district in India.
The operation was a joint effort by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir police, and the Central Reserve Police Force in Sekipora village in Bijbehara—around 50km from Srinagar, reports NDTV.
The operation saw no collateral damage, a senior official said, adding that it was one of the most successful operations in recent years.
Arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot, he said.
