Flood victims in Bayelsa and Delta States have been assisted by Chevron Nigeria Limited with relief materials.
The oil giant donated relief materials such as mattresses, food items, toiletries and others to bring succor to the victims in Warri South West, Warri North in Delta State and Igbogene in Yenagoa local government areas of Bayelsa.
At the Warri South West local government areas, the secretary to the local government, Mrs. Gabari Gladys Omare and the State Emergency Management Authority (SEMA) representative, Mrs. Attu Evelyn, received the items on behalf of the council chairman, Hon. Tuoyo Duke Taiye.
Also at the Warri North local government area, the council secretary, Mr. Victor received the items on behalf of the chairman, Hon. Aduge Okorodudu.
Similarly, Hon. Angus Didei, on behalf of the Bayelsa State Emergency Relief Committee received the items meant for Igbogene council.
Chevron’s general manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs (PGPA), Esimaje Brikinn, who represented Tony Emegere, PGPA superintendent, said: “This donation is in line with the NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture’s commitment and our tradition of care for the welfare of people around our areas of operation in Nigeria and beyond. As we donate these items, I hope that they will assist in meeting the needs of the people.”
The officials thanked Chevron management for coming to the aid of the flood victims with food items to support the efforts of the federal and state governments.
