Leaders and stakeholders in Delta Central District have endorsed Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for a second term in office following his acclaimed effective representation in the Senate.

Omo-Agege received the nod from hundreds of constituents drawn from the eight local government areas in the district during a town hall/constituency briefing held at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Conference Centre, Effurun.

He used the platform to give account of his stewardship and his empowerment programme, the bills he sponsored and co-sponsored including the bills for the establishment of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE), Prohibition of Sexual Harassment in Educational Institutions and for Matters Connected Therein.

The motion for his adoption as the sole candidate for the Urhobo was moved by Peter Umukoro from Sapele local government area and was unanimously adopted by all the constituents present at the event, through a voice vote.

In his address, Senator Omo-Agege said: “The work to make Urhobo great again has begun and Urhobo nation is better off, thanks to President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC. Urhobo land is now linked by rail to Aladja after 34 years that the project was abandoned.

“Chief Great Ogboru has emerged as the governorship candidate of the ruling national party in Delta State and he will win the governorship race in 2019, thereby ending years of marginalisation of the Urhobo in Delta politics,” he said.
