The Chief Of Staff to Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state, Chief Tolu Odebiyi has resigned his appointment from the service of the state.
In a statement issued on Friday afternoon in Abeokuta, the state capital, Odebiyi said he was resigning his position from Amosun’s cabinet to enable him pursue his Senatorial ambition in the forthcoming general elections.
The former Chief of Staff is the Senatorial candidate for Ogun West in the forthcoming year 2019 general elections on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his resignation letter which he tendered to Secretary to Ogun State Government (SSG), Odebiyi expressed deep appreciation to the state governor, Amosun for the opportunity given him to serve the people of the state.
Odebiyi said he was pleased with the confidence which Amosun reposed in him by the appointment and the process that led to his emergence as the APC Senatorial Candidate.
He described the governor as a visionary leader who impacted positively on the socio-economic development of the state.
The former Ogun Chief of Staff also expressed gratitude to members of the State Executive Council (SEC) for their support and cooperation during the period he served as the Chief of Staff in Ogun.
While thanking the people of the state for their support and opportunity he had to serve them, Odebiyi however, pledged to make the progress of Ogun state paramount in all his future considerations.
He prayed for peace in the forthcoming general elections.
