Mrs Bagudu Harps On Peaceful Elections

In an effort to ensure peace during and after the 2019 general elections, the wife of Kebbi state governor, Aisha Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has convened sensitization parley with youth, women groups, security and other stakeholders in the state.

In her remarks during the event at Presidential Banquet Hall in Birnin Kebbi, Hajiya Bagudu who is also the founder of a charity organisation , Mass Almajiri Literacy and Poverty Alleviation Initiative (MALPAI) stressed the need for sustaining peaceful coexistence of all irrespective of tribe or religious background.

She warned that in crises situations, women and children bear the brunt most, noting that “In crises situations, women and children suffers a lot ,mothers often face drastic situation.”

She advised women to always send their children to school, monitor where they go so as not to engage in political thuggery.

The Secretary to Kebbi State Government, Alhaji Babale Umar said the meeting was timely considering the forthcoming 2019 election and how some politicians instigate youths into political violence.

In his goodwill message, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Musa Wada who represented his boss at the event, also warned that the Nigerian Police will not condone any act that will breach public peace during and after the election.

“The police will not condone any form of political thuggery, destruction of bill boards, banners, posters, carrying of weapons to political campaigns and rallies as well as hate speeches during and after the 2019 election,” he warned.

Other security organisations such as the Army, NSCDC and Immigration all urged the youths to be law abiding and conduct themselves in decorum during and after the 2019 election.
