The National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA) and Ethiopian Airlines as part of their humanitarian services, donated several food items to Treasure Orphanage Home in Karu, Abuja

Items donated by the NANTA and Ethiopian Airlines include: bags of rice, toys, detergents, vegetable oil, noodles, custard, toiletries and baby care products.

Speaking during the presentation of the items to the orphanage home, the zonal vice-president, NANTA, Amb. Kayode Adeshola said that the idea behind the gesture of mobilising airlines to donate items to orphanage homes is to inculcate empathy in them and as part of corporate social responsibility.

Adeshola said NANTA does not want to be so engrossed with organising travelling alone but, giving back to the society and less privileged.

He however, called on other airlines to emulate Ethiopian Airlines by donating to the less privileged.

The zonal vice-president said the association visited the orphanage home few years back and added that they are happy over the improved infrastructure seen at the home.

Adeshola noted that though the gesture was part of their ‘widow’s might’, it will make the orphans to have a sense of belonging and boost their bond with the society.

Speaking during the presentation of the items to the orphanage home, the coordinator, Treasure Orphanage, Mrs Sarah Etukodo lauded the association for the initiatives.

She also called on the federal government, relevant stakeholders and well-meaning Nigerians to support the orphanage home.
