The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Benue State, Chief Dr Stephen Terungwa Hwande, has vowed to create the enabling environment for private enterprise to thrive and provide government support when needed.
He gave the pledge in Abuja through his media team, headed by Mr Ora Hwande.
Hwande also pledged to reengineer and grow the economy of Benue State by stimulating the establishment of small and medium business via policies and economic empowerment programmes.
“We will focus on internally generated revenue and sustainable wealth creation.”
On safety of citizens, he said the security of indigenes and residents shall be prioritised and will not be politicised or treated with kid gloves or lip service.
“Our strategy shall be driven by the philosophy that Benue lives matter.”
He further noted that, his government will double production of food and cash crops within two years. “We cannot be farming with hoes and cutlasses in 2018 and waiting for rains and expect good results.”
