It was all fun and celebration as Sound Factory Entertainment over the weekend held the much-publicised Fashion Run-way and Listening Party of its artiste, Sidney, while also unveiling its new office location at Gwarinpa, Abuja.
The record label known for its creativity, dynamism, resourcefulness and prudence in quality and system of service delivery had series of activities on the night ranging from music, magical acts, a brief description of the Eurythmic EP, Fashion run-way, DJ battle show, performance by guest artiste and the introduction of the artiste who thrilled guests with songs from his EP, “Legit” and “Ada.”
The event had in attendance the National President, DJ Association of Nigeria, Tade Adeyemi, who expressed satisfaction on the arrangement saying “the artiste is good to go.”
Sidney who once did a remix of 2Baba’s song titled ‘Amaka’ expressed admiration for the singer who had been his inspiration in the industry.
Having connected with the song on a deeper level and looking into the current economic situation of the country, he felt it was a political disappointment, hence, the remix he made. He claimed a disappointment from a lady was way better than disappointment from the government.
The artiste whose genre of music is reggae and blues as well as afro pop said he chose the title Eurythmic for the EP because the word itself connotes pleasant vibes that anyone could relate with.
The artiste who revealed to journalists noted that he was the first of Sound Factory in Abuja and working harder to impress his fans and the world at large.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer, Sound Factory Group, Kayode Olumoko, said the company is first rental company as it has been in business for 15 years and about a year plus they decided to start up the entertainment company.
“The journey these past years has been wonderful and it is definitely one of the reasons for the entertainment angle of the business since we operated back stage
and with these, we have seen their pains and how they want to get a piece of the action,” Olumoko said,
Abuja was targeted with the event because its residents have been identified with high purchasing power but yet, have not been able to meet the rapid frequency on the rate of business in the fashion, entertainment and events industry as its counterpart in Lagos, hence, the reason for hosting it is to drive the right business attention to help break boundaries on an international scale, for high business revenue and growth.
He added, the company’s smart decisions with thorough research has made it one of the most competitive entertainment promotion, event management, business to customer network and planning brand in Abuja, leaving no room for errors on service delivery efficiency. On how they intend to soar in the entertainment and business world, he said ‘it is by re-establishing the Nigerian music, fashion, media and business to customer network industry through genuine and quality production on a daily stride’.
He further stated that aside the talent, the singer has an excellent character and that is the perimeter for which they are doing business. The CEO said, ‘I am not competing with Lagos but trying to set a platform where it could be easier for people to deliver here and still be recognised. All brands and sponsors are in Lagos but right here we are trying to start the best of it. He concluded by saying, the roadmap is to expand the business though it may take time but the essence is to make sure it is done right to avoid starting all over again. The business, he said, is open to all but the most important thing is talent and character.
