We’re Not Part Of Atiku’s Endorsement – MAJA Party

The Mass Action Joint Alliance (MAJA) party has dissociated itself from the purported endorsement   of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, as its presidential candidate for the 2019 elections.

A statement signed by the secretary, Board of Trustees (BOT) of the party, Dr. Abdullahi B. Yunusa, which was made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday, warned the convener of Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), against associating itself with the suspended/former chairman and secretary of the party, Mrs. Chika Ibeneme and Mr. Aliyu Ibrahim, respectively.

Yunusa stated that the two former executive members of the party have no locus standi to represent the interest of the party anymore, because a vote of no confidence has been passed on them by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party.

He revealed that a case is already in a court of competent jurisdiction of which a notice has been served on the duo and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), adding that any decision or agreement entered into with them would amount to court contempt, sub judicial, null and void.

The statement maintained that the former chairman’s decision to attend the last endorsement meeting of the CUPP of the presidential candidate of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) was done on her behalf, which does not represent the party’s decision.

It disclosed that the entire authentic NEC and BOT of MAJA party have not agreed on the endorsement, because the party has its presidential candidate, Alhaji Husseini Abubakar, who was elected after its primaries, conducted by INEC, just as it also warned that any monetary gratification granted to Ibeneme would be tantamount to alms giving.
