Katsina State governor, Aminu Bello Masari, has urged candidates for different positions in 2019 polls and beyond to court the support of eligible voters as President Muhammadu Buhari’s remained committed to his vow to ensure the sanctity of polls.

Masari, who spoke at Safana during the distribution of empowerment packages to some select beneficiaries a cross Safana/Batsari/Danmusa Federal Constituency in Katsina State by the member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, Abba Dayyabu Safana, advised elected politicians, political office holders and candidates for the forthcoming polls to be committed to the improvement of the quality of life of the electorate in return for their votes.

According to him, eligible voters would have great value in next year’s general elections because each vote would count in next year’s elections as the President had promised a free, fair and transparent election.

The governor added that the era of manipulation of electoral processes was over, while sympathizing with the people of the constituency over security challenges and calling on them to intensify prayers for improved security in their communities.

In his remarks, the Secretary to the Government of the State, Mustapha Inuwa, who hails from the constituency, assured that the people would give the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) their unalloyed support in 2019.

He reasoned that the constituency would rally round the current administration for more dividends of democracy and a lasting solution to the security challenges that led to the loss of lives in parts of the constituency in the past.

Earlier, the law maker representing the constituency, Abba Dayyabu Safana, revealed that over 1,121 people would receive various empowerment packages under the current initiative.

Meanwhile, Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has urged federal appointees from the state to reconsider their commitment to the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming presidential election, adding that they may not be given a second mandate unless Buhari secures a second mandate.
