Ahead of 2019 general election, a social group under the aegis of Uchu Development Association (UDA), from Cross River State in Abuja, has endorsed the state governor, Professor Ben Ayade for second term,
In a statement jointly signed by the leader Chief, Paul Abru, Prince Emmanuel Amama, general secretary Mr. Orabi Thomas, publicity secretary Mr. Fidelis Agribe, made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday in Abuja.
The group said, “We are indeed proud for the achievements of the Governor so far, and would be supporting him all the way for another term in office, saying he has done well in the areas of infrastructural development and other massive steps recorded in all sectors and sections of the state.”
The statement also urged the Governor to work with somebody like Dr. Stephen Odey and see the endorsement as a call to do more for the people of Uchu community in Yala local government area of the State come 2019.
The statement reads in part: “Governor, Professor. Ben Ayade, and Dr. Stephen Odey, the chairman, Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board (CRSUBEB), in the last two and a half years in governing the State; because of the things he has done across board, across different sectors, we sat together and we decided without a rebel voice to seek his audience and endorse him for re-election in 2019 as the Governor of Cross River State.
“If you look at the pace of development already experienced by the state and the projects being achieved in the state, you will agree with me that the future is indeed bright for every Cross Rivers indigenes.
“We wish to join other well-wishers in thanking God for the life of our Governor, Professor Ben Ayade and we will continue to pray for him for perfect health and strength to discharge the onerous leadership responsibility God has bestowed upon him at this critical time of our nationhood,” its statement said.
