…Says Ortom Has Demonstrated His Love For The Idoma-Igede Nation, Benue At Large
By Dickson Agbo
The Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has received commendations from a youth group over the weekend for his unflinching love for the IDOMA-Igede nation. This follows the nomination and confirmation of Justice Adams Onum as the first Chief Judge of Benue State from the Idoma extraction after 41 years of its existence.
In a statement by the National Coordinator, Coalition for Good Governance and Change Initiatives (CGGCI), Comrade Okpokwu Ogenyi told Journalists that Gov Samuel Ortom is a reflection of true leadership,as shown in the Benue project.
He said, ’Gov Ortom has not only proven his love for the minority Idomas, but his zeal of building one united Benue devoid of ethnicity, nepotism, sentiment among other trivial dichotomy is a welcome development.
The group stressed that this event has made it the third unprecedented achievements recorded by the Ortom’s administration within spate of six months. As he had earlier initiated and signed into law the Anti Open Grazing Law in Benue, which most security experts has been suggesting that it be enshrined in the federal constitution as a permanent measure to curb herders/farmers clash, thereby preventing blood bath, stop cattle rustling and restore inter tribal relations in Nigerian.
According to the coordinator, ‘ come 2019, Benue people especially the Idoma-Igede nation shall reciprocate same act of kind gesture to APC, inclusiveness and love shown to the people. It’s the first time of having Head of Service of the State and Chief Justice of the State from the same Zone.
“Ortom deserved more than a second term to salvage Benue. Here is a governor whose interest is Benue, it’s people and future. It has been proven that there is no better Benue son than Gov Samuel Ortom. Therefore, urged the All Progressive Congress, APC and other opposition parties in the State to endorse Ortom as automatic ticket in order to continue with the good works.” he said.
