NANS Disapproves Ibadan Polytechnic Tuition Fee Increment

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has expressed displeasure over the increment in Ibadan Polytechnic fees by its management.

This was expressed in a statement jointly signed by its leadership, Mr Adeyemi Azeez, NANS National PRO and Mr Adekitan Adebisi, NANS Southwest Cordinator, yesterday, in Abuja.

“NANS condemns this in totality, as we cannot continue to watch our fundamental rights being turned to a source of revenue by the anti poor and anti student people in the government.

“NANS describes this increment at this civil servants’ trial period as a deliberate attempt towards making the future promising Nigerian students to suddenly become academic dropouts”.

NANS also alleged that the present administration, by this increment, is trying to make education not affordable for the sons and daughters of the poor.

NANS, however, called on the government to reverse the school fees to status quo to avoid industrial action.

“Failure to adhere to the above ultimatum, NANS national leadership shall mobilise en-mass for protest on Thursday, 10th January, 2018, to shut down activities in Oyo State.
