Chairman of the board of Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission ,NIPC and former Deputy speaker of the House of Representatives , Honourable Babangida SM Nguroje has expressed confidence that measures taken by the current administration to ensure the actualization of the Mambilla hydro power project comes on stream would improve the tourism sector and create employment to the nation’s teaming youths .
In a statement in Abuja, the NIPC chairman stated that his commission has perfected plans to provide the necessary support to all tourism organisations foreign and local in other for them to live their full potentials.
He stressed that approval by the Federal Executive Council of the sum of N812 million for demarcation of the specific area of land to be affected by the Mambilla Hydro Power Project which will lead to the enumeration, resettlement , compensation and construction of the project is an indication that federal government places high premium on the project .
According to Nguroje , the power sector remains the bedrock of every nation that strives to create employment and right atmosphere for businesses.
Nguroje stressed that , ” for is at the NIPC , we are looking forward to take advantage of this massive project to further boost foreign and local investments , because we believe that power is key to every economy”.
He continued, ” I must commend President Muhammadu Buhari and the Federal Executive Council for once more approving funds that would be used for the demarcation of the land and clearly I must state that we are on the right tracks .
” Every sector of the economy requires power and for our people to be self-sufficient and reduce over dependence on government we must fix the power sector and Mambilla comes handy in terms of power generation”.
