Gov Emmanuel Pledges To Create More Clans In Ibiono Ibom



Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom has assured the people of Ibiono Ibom local government area of the state of his desire to create more clans to enable them enjoy more dividends of democracy. 

He gave the indication at the weekend while addressing PDP governorship rally, at Oko-ita  headquarters of  Ibiono  Ibom  local government area of the state even as he pledged that his government would revisit the abandoned Use-Ikot Amama road project  in the soonest possible time.

He decried the attitude of the immediate past administration in the state for playing politics with the Use-Ikot Amama road knowing how sensitive and important the road was to the people of the area.

The governor apologised to the people for enduring the eight years of “lies”, and “deceits” of the immediate past administration in the state.

He also promised to construct a road to the home of the late Catholic Cardinal Ekadnem in appreciation of his contribution to  spiritual upliftment , progress, unity and national development.

LEADERSHIP  reports  that on his assumption of office, the state governor had announced the creation of additional clans in Onna, Uruan and Essien Udim local government areas, but, many observers were disappointed when Ibiono Ibom local government area with more than 200 villages was left out.

On the abandoned Use-Ikot Amama road project which was said to have been completed and commissioned by the immediate past administration the governor assured that work was going to resume immediately on the road.

“Another road the state government is going to construct is the road leading to home of Cardinal Ekadnem. How many of Ibiono Ibom people know that the late Cardinal was from here.

‘’We are going to immortalize him by doing a road where he came from, Obio Ibiono, even though he was not buried there, but, as a government we are going to immortalise him by constructing a road to his place of birth”, the governor said,”

Earlier in address, the Paramount Ruler of Ibiono Ibom local government area, Okuku Ime Inyang commended Governor Emmanuel  for constructing the Ikot Udom road in record time and  reminded him that the bridge that was to be constructed alongside the road was yet to be built.
