Chairman of Painted Abuja Taxis (PAT), Comrade Shehu Shugaba Yar’Adua, has declared his support for the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari, in next Saturday’s rescheduled presidential election.
In an interview with LEADERSHIP in Abuja yesterday, Yar’Adua, noted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) led administration, under President Muhammadu Buhari has achieved a lot for Nigeria and therefore needs to be re-elected for another term.
He pointed out that the administration has restored security in parts of the country, unlike what was obtainable before the 2015 election elections, where the country was in a mess.
“We have seen many achievements of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led administration, under President Muhammadu Buhari, and so we want the continuity of this administration. For instance, we now have security, which was what we asked for in 2015, when the country was in a mess, and God brought President Muhammadu Buhari to us.
So, the issue of insecurity is a foregone matter, because the case of bomb blast in Abuja and other parts of the country are no longer there, as was the case before the 2015 elections.”
The PAT chairman maintained that if not for the coming of President Buhari into power in 2015, the Boko Haram insurgent could have taken over the Presidential Villa.
He also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that the rescheduled elections hold as planned so as not to discourage the electorate.
“I will advice INEC to ensure that the rescheduled elections are free and fair. They should also ensure that there is no problem” he said, even as he urged Nigerians to re-elect Buhari.
