Morocco’s CPI Drops To 0.5% In January

Morocco’s annual consumer price inflation dropped to 0.5 per cent in January from 1.9 per cent in December, the high commission for planning said on Friday.

The agency said in Rabat that on a month-on-month basis, the consumer price index dropped to 0.3 per cent from a 0.7 per cent in December.

It said annual food inflation, however, rose to 2.3 per cent in January compared with 1.3 per cent in December, while non-food inflation slipped to 0.8 per cent in January from 1.8 per cent a month earlier.
